How to Verify Basic Functioning for Netgear router devices

After you turn on power to router follow sequence of events should occur:
1)      When power is first applied to verify 192.168.1 Netgear router setup that power light is on.
2)      Verify that power lights turntable within a few seconds indicating that self-test procedure is running.
3)      After approximately 30 seconds verify that:
·         The colour of power light changes to green.
·         The LAN port lights are lit for any local ports are connected.
·         The internet port is linked and its light is lit.

NPower light Not On:

If power and other lights are off check following
1)      Make sure that power cord is properly connected to the router and that power supply adapter is properly connected to a functioning power outlet.
2)      Check that you using power adapter supplied by Netgear for this product. Go for the steps that can help you in configuring the MAC spoofing.

Power Light stays amber:

When the router is turned on power light turn amber for 30seconds and then turns green if the light does not the green router has a problem, if power light off and back on one minute after power up.
1)      Turn power off and back on to see of router recovers.
2)      Clear the router configuration to factory defaults, this will set router IP address to 192.168.1.1.

Internet port lights not ON:

If either internet lights do not light when the 192.168.1 Netgear router setup ethernet connection is made check the following:
1)      Make sure that ethernet cable connection is secure at the router and a PC.
2)      Make sure that power is turned on the connected PC.

3)      Be sure you are using ethernet cables like the cable that was supplied with a wireless router.
