Parental controls for Netgear router

In this article, we’ll tell you how you can set parental controls through your Netgear Wi-Fi router.

1.        Download the Netgear Genie App on your device.
2.        Connect your device to your router.
3.        Launch the Netgear Genie App on the device that is connected to the router.
4.        A lot of cards will be displayed, click on Parental Control. The Live Parental Controls screen appears. If you already have an OpenDNS account, select yes. If not, Click Next.

5.        To create your account, fill the OpenDNS information for your account and click Next.
6.        Set the filtering level and click Next.
7.        A bypass account will help some computers/devices to access the internet without any restriction. Go to the NETGEAR genie Status window, click change custom settings.
8.        Your browser will take you to https netgear.opendns.com. Click on Add a bypass account. Set a username and password for your bypass account. Click Add account.
9.        Set the filtering level of your bypass account. Click on Save Filtering Level.
10.    Click on Add a time block. Set the time and type of filtering level. Then click Add Time Block.
11.    Go back to the NETGEAR genie Status window and click on the Bypass Login.

Now you can use the internet without any restriction with the Bypass account. But your device must have the Netgear Genie App.
